Summary

Gastrointestinal bleeding is uncommon in childhood, but may be life-threatening. The causes differ from those in adults, and are often age specific; there are few epidemiological data. Localization is important but may be difficult. The importance of appropriate investigation and management cannot be overemphasized. This article will discuss recent advances in investigative techniques and management strategies.
